Sales back at pre-pandemic levels at family furniture business

Family-run furniture store Andersons of Inverurie has reported a growth in sales as turnover climbed to over £10m.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 October 2022, total sales rose 24.4% to £12.2m from £9.8m in 2021, further adding to its growth of 19.5% from £8.2m in 2020.

Pre-tax profit resulted at £1.1m, remaining consistent with its profit of the same figure recorded the previous year.

Stated within its report, the company said: “The directors are pleased to see turnover levels return to levels achieved pre-pandemic. Overall profitability remains similar to that achieved in the previous year as operating costs increased following the withdrawal of the government reliefs that were available.

“The company and wider group remain in a strong financial position and as such the directors remain confident that the business can successfully manage against periods of low demand.”
