Sales and profit grow at furniture wholesaler

Furniture wholesaler Seconique has reported a growth in sales and profit.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 30 June 2023, total sales rose 20.1% to £26.2m from £21.8m in 2022.

UK sales were up 20% to £25.8m from £21.5m, while EU sales rose 13.4% to £354,000 from £312,000. Rest of the world sales registered £22,000.

Pre-tax profit resulted at £2m, up from £1.1m recorded in the previous year.

Stated within its report, the company said it experienced ongoing “strong demand” for its products in all markets.

“Despite the pressure of increased inflation and interest rates impacting on the cost of living, the directors believe the company performed soundly during the year.

“The supply of good quality furniture, backed up with excellent service to accompany the products, is key to maintaining strong relationships with our customers and is also attractive in developing new business domestically as well as overseas.”
