Bed and mattress manufacturer Sleepeezee has reported a growth in turnover as sales climbed towards £40m.
According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 December 2022, total sales rose 14.3% to £39m from £34.1m in 2021.
UK sales rose 14.9% to £36.8m from £32m, while EU revenues remained flat at £2m. Sales outside the EU registered an uptick from £59,000 to £135,000.
Pre-tax profit resulted at £404,000, up from £354,000 recorded in the previous year.
Stated within its report, the company said: “Our gross revenues increased +16% in the same period, while our mattress units were up +17%. As a comparison, data from the NBF declared that combined member bed sales by value were up +14% compared to 2021, while units sold were up +10%.
“Sales activity began more strongly than anticipated in the year, on the back of a strong opening order book and robust online sales. However, sales began to fall in March as the order book became weaker with market seasonality having an impact.”
