Poor economy leads to closure of Warwick independent

Family furniture retailer Warwick Furnishers has announced plans to closure bringing an end to 10 years of trade.

Situated on West Street in Warwick, the business has launched a closing down sale and is expected to shut for the final time on Saturday 19 August.

Colin Stiles, owner of Warwick Furnishers, cited the “poor economy” as the main reason behind the closure, adding that rising costs and the cost-of-living crisis impacting consumer demand also played a role in the decision to close.

The company announced the news over its social media channel, while also thanking its customers for support over the years.

“We are sad to announce the closure of our family business after 10 years of trading,” the business said. “Come and see us for our final couple of weeks for some one-of-a-kind bargains. All items will be available on a first come first served basis. Thanks for everyone’s support over the last 10 years!”
