Performance ‘steady and healthy’ at underlay supplier

Flooring underlay supplier Ball & Young has reported a growth in sales and strong profits.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 December 2021, total sales rose 6.2% to £32.2m from £30.3m in 2020.

UK sales were up 6.1% to £31.2m from £29.4m, while EU sales increased to £888,000 from £880,000. Rest of the world revenues also rose to £94,000 from £56,000.

Gross profit increased from £11.7m to £12.1m, while pre-tax profit resulted at £8.6m, slightly down from £9.4m recorded the previous year.

Stated within its report, the company, which is part of The Vita Group, said that despite ongoing challenges including the disruption in material supply and rising costs across the whole of its raw materials sector, it had returned a ‘steady and healthy’ performance.
