Panaz extends partnership with Ribble Rivers Trust

Lancashire based contract fabric manufacturer, Panaz, has extended its partnership with Clitheroe charity, Ribble Rivers Trust, for a second consecutive year as part of its commitment to supporting the local environment.

For every 100 metres of Panaz fabric sold, the equivalent of one tree sapling is planted in Lancashire to help increase the county’s current woodland cover of 6%, which is less than half of the national average.

Since the beginning of the partnership, Panaz has supported the planting of thousands of trees by the Ribble Rivers Trust to help support biodiversity, improve soil quality, and create viable habitats for Lancashire’s wildlife.

Speaking of the partnership, Rollie Attard, CEO of Panaz said: “Planting trees forms a vital part of the fight against climate change as they improve our water and air quality, whilst also providing a much-needed natural barrier to flooding.

“As a manufacturer that has been based in Lancashire for over three decades, we are extremely proud of our heritage and our continued partnership with the Ribble Rivers Trust is enabling us to further extend our commitment to ensuring the local community is protected for years to come.”

The woodlands and habitats planted through the partnership will also create places for people to relax, exercise and immerse themselves in nature, whilst simultaneously helping to reduce the amount of carbon in the atmosphere by taking in carbon as they grow.

Charlotte Ireland Pope at Ribble Rivers Trust said “We are delighted that Panaz has continued its partnership with us for a second year and has confirmed its pledge to plant one new sapling for every 100 metres of fabric it supplies.

“Partnerships like this are vital to ensuring we can continue to provide the residents of Lancashire with safe green spaces, whilst also completing our vital work to help protect the native habitat.”
