Online furniture retailer posts decline in sales and profit

Online furniture retailer Atlantic Shopping, the online trading name of V.N & Britannic Warehouse, has reported a decline in sales and profit.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 December 2021, total sales fell 20.1% to £13.5m from £16.9m in 2020.

Gross profit decreased from £10.2m to £5.1m, while pre-tax profit resulted at £1.7m, down from £4.9m recorded in the previous year.

Stated within its report, the company said UK sales were down 20.2% to £11m from £13.8m, while EU sales were also down by 20% to £2.4m from £3m. Sales costs rose from £2.7m to £4.8m during the period.
