Online furniture brand owner sees sales slip but profits jump

Home and lifestyle ecommerce retailer Domu Brands has reported a growth in profit despite a sales slump of more than 20%.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 30 June 2021, total sales fell 26% to £56.8m from £76.3m year-on-year, a drop of £19.5m.

EBITDA resulted at £7.6m, up 46% from £5.2m, with the growth being attributed to ‘several strategic initiatives’, while adding that the UK remains its most profitable region.

The company, owner of furniture brand VonHaus, said that its merger of VonHaus and VoSshef onto one platform has been ‘hugely beneficial’ with both brands targeting similar customer demographics.
