Office chair supplier grows turnover

Office furniture manufacturer Pledge Office Chairs has reported a growth in turnover as sales climbed over £12m.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 May 2022, total sales rose 38% to £12.4m from £9m in 2021. Pre-tax profit resulted at £746,000, up from £164,000 recorded in the previous year.

Stated within its report, the company, which specialises in wooden, steel and upholstered seating, said: “Global economic conditions gave rise to a number of raw material shortages and significant increases in costs and the situation remains uncertain moving into 2023.

“We continue to see increased costs and delayed component deliveries and these are being impacted by higher utility prices and the world’s current social and economic pressures.

“We are expanding the number of ethical suppliers we work with to ensure our supply chains are as committed to positive change as we are, making a substantial effort to reduce harmful impact on the planet.”
