Northern Big Shots raises £8,000 for industry charity

Industry hot shots turned out in droves at Northern Big Shots last month and raised a whopping £8,000 for charity The Furniture Makers Company.

Organised by Karen Stevenson, chairman of the charity’s North West Region, the annual clay pigeon shoot took place on Thursday 22 September, once again held at the superb Catton Hall Shooting Ground in Frodsham.

Eighteen teams, from furnishing companies including Celtheath, Furniture Village, Howdens, Hypnos, Jay-Be, Panaz, Spinks and Tempur, took part in the popular industry fundraiser. After a spirited competition, the near 80 guests enjoyed a fantastic lunch before a charity auction and raffle. Panaz’s team ‘Clays of Glory’ were the winners of the tournament and were presented the Top Team Cup.

The Furniture Makers’ Company would like to thank the sponsors of the event: Alex Dymock, Catton Hall, Chelsom Lighting, Essential Soft Furnishings, Howdens, Hypnos, Latham & Taylor, Nybble IT, Panaz, Pro-Auction and Taylors Solicitors.

Jonny Westbrooke, CEO at The Furniture Makers’ Company, said: “Northern Big Shots has established itself as a fantastic fundraising and networking event in the north of England, thanks to the hard work of Karen Stevenson and our North West Region. The £8,000 raised from the event will be enable us to continue supporting people’s welfare, educating for the future and inspiring excellence.”

Karen Stevenson, chairman of the North West Region, said: “I would like to thank all our sponsors and attendees for supporting Northern Big Shots, which raised a significant amount for our industry charity. We have a number of fun social events planned for the future so if you are based in the North West, please do consider joining us at one of them – everyone from the industry is welcome.”
