Fashion and home furnishings retailer Next has shared images of its new Distribution Centre in South Elmsall.

Labelled as its ‘biggest project yet’, the new hub is still under construction with initial plans first being launched in 2020.

Two years on, the 825,000sq ft warehouse will cover the same space as 55 football pitches and will span across five floors.

Next said it plans to open the centre in 2023.

Currently, the building is in mid-construction, with the retailer confirming that solar panels will also be installed. It has launched a recruitment drive with jobs ranging from engineers, drivers, IT administrators, operatives and managers.

It is expected that the new distribution centre will create around 1,000 new jobs in total and that the investment is to meet demand for online sales.
