Next issues product recall on Chinese footstool

Clothing and home products retailer Next has issued a product recall on a footstool over potential injury concerns.

The Office for Product Safety and Standards issued the recall from Next after discovering that the legs on the Next Storage Footstools are not welded correctly, which could potentially break.

The product, described as a fabric stool with four ‘hair pin’ style legs, originates from China and has been recalled from end users.

A statement said: “The product has been recalled as it was identified that stools sold with the batch code IS8498494 are not welded correctly which may result in the legs breaking, potentially causing injury to the user.

“The product does not meet the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulations 2005. Next are contacting end users of the affected batch directly.”
