Bespoke kitchen furniture manufacturer Mereway has reported a growth in sales as well as a return to profit.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 December 2021, total sales rose 29.7% to £18.8m from £14.5m in 2020.

Gross profit increased from £2.9m to £6m, while pre-tax profit resulted at £174,000, improving from its loss of £1.5m recorded the previous year.

Stated within its report, the company said it invested in development and new product launches during the year, which will bear significant results in 2022 and in the years ahead.

“Turnover expectations for 2022 and through 2023 based on the new design launches and new business developments show strong growth,” Mereway said.

“Key business development initiatives will start to have an impact as focus is directed to strengthening our position in the trade to retail channel, opening up new retailers using the new Signature range as the lead product and the opening up of targeted export markets.”
