New carpet shop plans given green light

Garden centre Notcutts has confirmed that its plans to expand its services into carpets and flooring have been given the green light.

The Norwich-based business recently submitted a planning application to Norwich City Council to change the use of a building it owns from upholstery services to a new carpet and flooring retail shop.

Notcutts, which is situated on Daniels Road, closed its upholstery offering a number of years ago with the premises remaining vacant ever since.

The application stated that the property will be able to retail garden equipment and food products, while the carpet shop is understood to be run by a separate company.

Norwich City Council has now approved the application, stating that the building must not be used for any other purpose than those outlined in the initial application.
