Morris & Co. launches new collaboration with the Emery Walker Trust

Interior design and furnishings group, Sanderson Design Group PLC, has announced that it has signed a sponsorship agreement with the Emery Walker Trust, the charity that preserves the London house of Emery Walker, a typographer, engraver and friend of William Morris.

Under the agreement, the Company’s Morris & Co. brand will launch a collection of fabrics, wallpapers, bedding and homewares based on inspirational items in Emery Walker’s House, a museum to the Arts and Crafts movement in London’s Hammersmith.

The items include original cushions, rugs, prints and ceramics, including some early Morris & Co. products such as carpet and wall hangings.

It is expected that The Emery Walker House Collection by Morris & Co. will be launched in the Spring of next year. Further details about Emery Walker’s House are available at this link: https://www.emerywalker.org.uk/

Hugh Belsey, Chairman of the Emery Walker Trust, said: “Emery Walker’s House, at 7 Hammersmith Terrace in West London, was decorated and furnished in the nineteenth century by William Morris and other leading members of the Arts and Crafts movement.

“We are delighted that Sanderson Design Group has taken inspiration from original items in our collections, to create a new range of products that will be launched in early 2023. My fellow trustees join me in thanking most warmly Sanderson Design Group for their inspirational generosity.”

Lisa Montague, Sanderson Design Group’s Chief Executive Officer, commented: “We are delighted to have signed this agreement with the Emery Walker Trust, the custodian of the treasure trove of Arts and Crafts designs in Emery Walker’s House.

“We have developed a strong relationship with the Trust during the past two years, and helped them with a small grant during Covid. We are excited by the potential of this sponsorship agreement and the exciting new Morris & Co. collection that we expect to launch next Spring.”
