Mattress manufacturer returns to profit as online partners grow

Divans and mattresses manufacturer Sweet Dreams has reported a growth in sales and profit.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 March 2022, total sales rose 42% to £14.8m from £10.4m in 2021.

UK sales rose 45.3% from £9.7m to £14.1m, while EU revenues increased 11.9% to £733,000 from £655,000.

Gross profit increased from £2.7m to £4m, while pre-tax profit resulted at £100,000, up from a loss of £283,000 recorded the previous year.

Stated within its report, the company said that it recovered some of the ground lost in its previous year due to Covid-19, adding there has been a significant increase in business with online retailers since the start of the pandemic.

The company’s return to profit was achieved by efficiencies gained by its restructuring carried out in previous years, with the business forecasting further growth in profitability moving forward.
