Luxury beds retailer grows sales and profit

Beds and bedroom furniture retailer And So To Bed has reported a growth in sales and profit.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 December 2023, total sales rose 5% to £14.8m from £14.1m in 2022. Pre-tax profit resulted at £1m, up from £849,000 year-on-year.

Stated within its report, the company said that the sales growth was in relation to cost price inflation from its suppliers, the majority of which it was forced to pass on to its customers.

Gross margin increased 2.1% to 53.1%, as the company continued to “hold off from participating in the same level of promotional discounts previously offered to consumers”.

And So To Bed added that it had an order book of £1.8m at the year end with order intake remaining strong in the first quarter of 2024.
