Long-serving independent to close with owner to retire

Independent furniture retailer Polands has announced plans to close bringing an end to 140 years of trading.

Polands Family Furnishers, which is located on Montague Street in Worthing, has launched a £675,000 closing down sale.

The business, which was founded back in 1883, is to close following the sale with the owner – and great-grandson of the company founder, Mark Poland confirming he plans to retire.

The closing down sale officially begins from 16 June and will include discounts across all product ranges.

“We’ve really enjoyed serving the people in the area over the years and we will bow out by giving customers one last chance to get an unrepeatable deal,” Mark said.
