Leekes staff to take on 26-mile hike for cancer charity

Family-owned retailer Leekes has announced that five of its team are raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support through a sponsored 26-mile hike.

The event takes place on 9 September 2023 and will see the Leekes team, headed up by Lowri Adams and also including Jo, Chloe, Katie and Rachel from its head office, hike across the Wye Valley.

The team has set a target of £1,500 and has already raised almost 50%, with donations so far reaching £649.

Leekes said: “Some of our head office team are about to embark on a 26-mile journey through the Wye Valley in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

“Cancer is something that inevitably touches us all in some way throughout our lifetime and is a reminder that no one is exempt from life’s trials and that every action, no matter how small, can contribute to a brighter, cancer-free future.

“To support the team and help raise money for this very worthy cause, you can donate through their Just Giving page.”

In other news, Leekes has also confirmed that it has introduced Dulux paint back into its Bilston store.

Eamonn Ferry, home improvements buying controller at Leekes, commented: “We are pleased to reintroduce the Dulux brand into the Bilston store. The store has gained a reputation in the area as a one stop shop for wallpaper and the expansion into paint will further enhance their decorating offer.

“The paint mixing we offer in our other stores is one of our most popular services and we are encouraged by the initial response in store. Allowing customers a wider selection of colours and finishes helps to establish our “everything for the home” ethos and it’s important that we continue to be a one-stop shop for all our customers needs.”
