Leekes Llantrisant reaps investment benefit

Family-owned retailer Leekes has seen post Christmas sales surge at its Llantrisant home department store following a year of significant investment.

The family-owned retailer posted strong first-day sales figures in its up to half price sale with customers particularly taking advantage of significant savings across its furniture, kitchen & bathroom ranges and as well as other categories such as bedding, cookware, home storage and lighting items.

The retailer has recently refurbished its conservatory and glazing studio offering the latest technology that helps to improve the energy efficiency of their customers’ homes, enhancing its kerb appeal or providing additional space for the family with many visitors being so inspired by the new displays they have booked a design consultant visit to plan their new home improvement project.

The strong sales come as the flagship store also unveiled the second phase of its store refurbishment on Boxing Day. The most recent update has seen new bathroom accessories and bedding, curtains & cushions departments open with the store now proudly displaying the largest home textile offer in Wales.

The newly expanded space has allowed the store to add exciting new product ranges from leading home brands such as Vantona, Lazy Linen, Laura Ashley, Orla Kiely, Timorous Beasties and more. This phase also created a new store’s exit and information & payment point tills with the completion of the updated store exterior.

Commenting on the positive start to the sale and the excellent feedback received from customers about the new look, Emma Leeke, Managing Director of Leekes Retail said: “During the past year we have made a £4 million investment in our Llantrisant store starting with the launch of our new furniture floor and garden centre in June which has already helped deliver exceptional levels of sales across these ranges.

“We are confident that the next phase will offer our customers an unbeatable range of home textiles and bathroom accessories which will further enhance our offer. The Llantrisant team are looking forward to welcoming existing and new customers to store to see the investment for themselves and take advantage of the seasonal savings available in our sale.”
