Key markets recovery help carpet maker sales reach £70m

Carpet manufacturer Brintons has reported another growth in turnover and profit.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 30 September 2023, total sales rose 16.8% to £70.2m from £60.1m in 2022, further adding to its growth of 12.5% from £53.4m in 2021.

EBITDA stood at £11.2m, rising from £8.3m, while pre-tax profit resulted at £4.7m, up from £1.7m recorded in the previous year.

Stated within its report, the company said: “Customer demand was stimulated by the recovery in our key sectors. Following the impact of global events, hospitality demand was severely constrained, but in the past year market demand has recovered which has been reflected in a growth in orders.

“Confidence in our end markets has returned leading to end users increasing their levels of capital expenditure on both new and existing projects. As a result, we were able to secure larger scale projects, which in prior years had been absent.

“General hospitality, primarily leisure, following by business, together with the casino sector witnessed the highest growth, with the cruise ship refurbishment market also demonstrating recovery.

“There was also healthy demand for convention centre projects as these activities recommenced specifically throughout the USA.”
