Independent furniture retailer Warne’s has announced it plans to close with the owners preparing for retirement.

Warne’s is situated on Shirley Road in Shirley, Southampton, and has been trading since 1998.

Owned by couple Nick and Ann Warne, the pair have decided the time is right to retire following the sad passing of their son Matthew, who died at the beginning of this year at the age of just 31.

They had been considering retirement for several years but the death of their son, who used to help around the store, has reminded them that there is ‘more to life than work’.

The well-respected store has been a popular destination for bedroom furniture and mattresses over the years, with the couple ‘thanking customers for their ongoing support’.

The business will be closing the doors of their shop next month.
