Independent confirms store closure in Exeter

Independent furniture retailer Inspired Rooms has announced the closure of its store in Exeter.

Inspired Rooms said the lease will not be renewed at its store in Exeter Guildhall Shopping Centre, which has been open for around three years.

The business will still operate from its flagship 20,000sqft store in Torquay.

In a statement on the closure, the company said: “We are sad to announce that our Exeter furniture store is closing down. We are offering huge discounts on all of our products in our Exeter store.

“We have enjoyed the last three years at Exeter, but our lease has come to the end and the landlord is not renewing it as they have plans to refurbish the store into a different trading model.

“Our Torquay store in Market Street is our flagship store, with nearly 20,000sqft of furniture showroom will remain open as usual. Our Torquay store is the largest independently owned furniture store.”
