Independent carpet retailer looks to wind-up company

Independent carpet retailer The Little Carpet Company has begun insolvency proceedings after entering the process of voluntary liquidation.

The business, which operates stores across Nottinghamshire in Gedling, Mapperley, Arnold, Wollaton and West Bridgford, has issued a letter to creditors stating that the company’s director has appointed corporate restructuring firm Begbies Traynor to assist in the process and its financial position.

It is expected that the insolvency practitioners will be appointed as liquidators following the resolution to wind-up the company being passed by members, with the deadline for a decision set for 2 February.

In a short statement, Begbies Traynor said: “The letter that has been issued. There’s nothing formal at this point that has taken place, but a decision has been convened as per the letter.”
