Independent carpets and flooring business JBM Carpets has announced its expansion, taking over fellow carpet firm Border Flooring.

The owners of JBM Carpets, based in Great Harwood, has taken over the Clayton-le-Moors flooring business following its former owner Karl Smith deciding to retire.

The new owners, John and his partner Bernie, celebrated the occasion with an official re-opening event at the store on Whalley Road.

Border Flooring opened back in 1965 and was run by Karl, who first started in the industry at the age of 15. JBM Carpets has been trading for nine years.

To celebrate, the store put on cakes and refreshments for visiting customers as well as unveiling a new sign.

“Fantastic Day today. Thank you to everyone that called in to wish us luck. First sale made today and lots of others to measure next week. It’s been Amazing,” Border Flooring said.
