imm cologne is returning to its January dates in 2024

The Interior Business Event imm cologne will take place in January 2024 over five days from Sunday, 14 January, to Thursday, 18 January, at Koelnmesse’s trade fair grounds in Cologne.

After the enforced break due to the pandemic and the imm Spring Edition in June 2023, Germany’s biggest interior trade fair will return to its established January dates from 2024 onwards to launch the new interior design year. The event will continue the journey towards a redefined imm cologne that it has embarked upon with the imm Spring Edition. Like the special event in June 2023, imm cologne 2024 is designed for effective business with amended dates and a focus on trade visitors.

“In close consultation with the industry and the associations involved in the event, we’re delighted to be able to announce that imm cologne will return to its usual January dates from 2024. The start of the year always has a unique dynamic, which makes it the perfect time for the industry and the retail and wholesale trade to gather and design tomorrow’s living spaces together,” says Gerald Böse, Chief Executive Officer of Koelnmesse.

“This view is shared by Elmar Duffner, President of the Association of the German Furniture Industry (VDM): “We welcome this early decision on imm cologne’s future dates. The announcement will make planning easier for our manufacturers. There is strong support in the industry for an imm cologne in January – the event has been a firm fixture on the calendar for decades.”

The journey that the trade fair has embarked upon with the imm Spring Edition in June continues, and the event’s transformation is ongoing. Exhibitors and visitors can expect a new and reimagined imm cologne in 2024. Matthias Pollmann, Vice President Trade Fair Management for Furniture, Interiors and Design at Koelnmesse, explains: “The gathering of key market players not only offers exhibitors and visitors outstanding opportunities to grow their business and establish new contacts. It’s also a chance to play an active role in idea creation and trend setting. imm cologne sees its future role as a driver for both industry-specific and external topics that are relevant to the entire world of interior design.”
