Home improvement retailer grows turnover

Two-store home improvement, furnishings and beds retailer Gardiner Haskins has reported a growth in turnover and profit.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 December 2022, total sales rose 18% to £7.2m from £6.1m in 2021. Pre-tax profit resulted at £492,000, up from £347,000 recorded in the previous year.

Stated within its report, Gardiner Haskins, which has stores in Bristol and Cirencester, reported net assets of £11.6m, up from £10.7m, while year-end cash at the bank remained consistent to the prior year at £2.3m.

The company increased its workforce to 54 from 51 during the period and continues to “maximise income and control costs”, while also continuing to trade profitably in 2023.
