Garden centre group grows profit to almost £10m

Indoor and outdoor furniture and leisure retailer Haskins Garden Centres has reported a growth in sales as turnover surpassed £50m.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 27 February 2022, total sales rose 31% to £50.4m from £38.4m in 2021.

Gross profit increased from £13m to £19.7m, while pre-tax profit resulted at £9.3m, up from £3.8m recorded the previous year.

Stated within its report, the company, which operates from five garden centres in Southern England, said that despite ongoing challenges, the group traded ‘very well during the year’, driven by gardening and garden leisure sales due to increased demand following the pandemic.
