Furniture upcycling business relocates to Bedford

Furniture upcycling business Absolutely Shabbylass has announced the opening of its new store in Bedford.

Situated on Castle Road, the business has moved from Ampthill and marked the occasion with an official ribbon cutting ceremony with Bedford mayor Tom Wootton.

The store will display upcycled furniture as well as provide a space for over 40 independent small makers and artists.

Commenting on the opening, Maria Harris-Ash, owner, said: “What a welcome! This past three days have been phenomenal and I am incredibly humbled by the amount of support, well wishes, help and customers that I’ve received.

“Such a positive move from what was a scary decision deciding to move from my already established business in Ampthill to new territory. I can’t thank you enough for welcoming me to Bedford.”
