Furniture retailer leaves customers thousands out of pocket

Independent furniture retailer Staffordshire UK Furniture Ltd has entered liquidation owing consumers over £40,000.

Richard Hunt, of SFP Restructuring Limited, was appointed as liquidator of the company, also known as Now its Homely and Staffordshire UK, on 21 September 2022.

Detailed in newly filed documents on Companies House, the business, which was first established in May 2020, owed consumer creditors a total of £43,000.

These included a mix of claims across 25 consumers, with the majority of claims valuing over four-figures. It is expected that consumers are set to suffer a shortfall of the entire amount owed due to no assets being realised.

The company has ceased to trade with many customers airing their frustrations on Trustpilot with one stating: “Like many others, I paid thousands for lovely furniture, was fobbed off by emails for months with excuses, then told he had ‘ceased trading’. Absolute thieves ripping off innocent trusting customers.”
