Salford-based furniture installation specialist First Install has acquired furniture supplier MBS Workplace Environments, creating a new group identity.

Following the recent acquisition of First Install by Ipswich-based Apex Joinery, the business has been rebranded to The First Interior’s Group.

Under the group, the companies First Install, its sister company Specialist Interiors Division, Apex Joinery and MBS Workplace Environments, will combine services to offer a ‘national and competitive operation’ that is expected to return revenues of around £7m in the coming year.

MBS Workplace Environments supplies furniture to all sectors, including retail, hospitality, offices and schools, as well as furniture installation and interior fit out.

Commenting on the new group formation, Mike McVey, Head of Group Sales and Operations, said: “The creation of The First Interior’s Group is great news for the four businesses involved. Each individual company brings a wealth of experience and knowledge as well as strong client base to the table, so by joining forces, we are forging a fantastic multi-million pound nationwide operator.”

The group has also launched a recruitment drive, with plans to create 20 new jobs.
