Furnishing group secures licensing agreement with US rugs firm

Interior design and furnishing group Sanderson Design Group PLC has announced a new licensing agreement for its Morris & Co. brand with Ruggable LLC, the US-based company that markets machine washable indoor and outdoor rugs and doormats.

This agreement is the second major licensing agreement for the Morris & Co. brand in the USA, following the agreement with US retailer Williams Sonoma for a broad range of tableware, cookware and kitchen accessories, and is in line with the Group’s international expansion.

Under the terms of the licensing agreement, Ruggable will develop a range of washable Morris & Co. rugs, cushions and doormats for launch during the first half of next year. The products will be available online at https://ruggable.com and in certain stores in the three territories covered by the agreement, comprising the USA, Canada and Australia.

Lisa Montague, Sanderson Design Group’s Chief Executive Officer, said: “We are delighted to sign this licensing agreement with Ruggable for the USA, Canada and Australia. Ruggable’s development of machine washable rugs and doormats has given the business a distinct market position which the Morris & Co. brand will further expand.

“This agreement is the latest in a very positive year for the Group’s licensing and collaborative activities, with highlights including the Sanderson collaboration with Disney, the extension of the Morris & Co. agreement with US retailer Williams Sonoma and the extension of the Morris & Co. womenswear agreement with NEXT in the UK and Europe.”
