Carpet supplier Furlong Flooring has reported a growth in turnover, although a reduction in profit.
According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 30 June 2022, total sales for Furlong Flooring Southern rose 6% to £33.3m from £31.3m in 2021. Pre-tax profit resulted at £969,000, slightly down from £1.4m recorded the previous year.
As for Furlong Flooring Central, sales rose 6% to £28.4m from £26.6m, while pre-tax profit decreased from £1.2m to £634,000. Within the Welsh division, sales increased 1.6% to £18.9m from £18.6m, although previous year profit of £303,000 fell to a loss of £63,000.
Meanwhile, the Northern Irish manufacturing division, Regency Carpet, posted a decline in sales by 4% to £39.2m from £40.7m. Pre-tax profit resulted at £277,000, down from £2.9m in 2021.
Overall, the Furlong group said performance was “satisfactory” and expects to see “continued growth in the foreseeable future”.
