Flooring manufacturing group Karndean has reported a growth in sales as turnover surpassed £100m.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 December 2021, total sales were up 25.4% to £107.9m from £86m in 2020.

UK sales rose 26% to £92.2m from £72.7m, while EU revenues increased 21% to £15.3m from £12.6m. Sales for the rest of the world declined from £634,000 to £391,000.

Gross profit increased from £33.9m to £39.5m, while pre-tax profit resulted at £15.6m, up from £13.8m recorded the previous year.

Stated within its report, the company said the strong performance seen in the latter half of 2020 continued into 2021, boosted further by the release of lockdown restrictions.

The business said it ‘performed well’ during the pandemic and will continue to develop product offerings, as well as supporting independent retailers moving forward.
