Fitted furniture firm grows sales despite cooling demand

Fitted furniture manufacturer ECF has reported a growth in sales.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 December 2022, total sales rose 2.3% to £21.5m from £21m in 2021.

Pre-tax profit resulted at £617,000, down from £945,000 recorded in the previous year.

UK sales were up 3.4% to £20.9m from £20.2m, while EU revenues slipped 28% from £840,000 to £604,000.

Stated within its report, the company said that demand “cooled” during the year due to impacting factors such as the war in Ukraine and the cost-of-living crisis.

“Overall, the ECF supply chain remained robust during the year despite frequent price increases resulting from the emerging global situation. As 2022 drew to a close, there was an indication that these frequent changes were beginning to moderate along with increased stability of currency exchange rates.”
