EZ Living Interiors launches Sofa Workshop

Irish furniture retailer EZ Living Interiors has launched Sofa Workshop, a curated design-led collection of sofas, chairs and footstools with the seal of approval from Ireland’s most famous architect and RTE Home of the Year judge, Hugh Wallace.

EZ Living Interiors believe in inspirational interiors. Their passion is offering a point of difference within the industry, be that furniture, accessories or their in-store shopping experience. Sofa Workshop is an expansion of their sofa collection, with a particular focus on cult classic shapes modernised and upholstered with high quality cover options in a range of rich tones. While design is the key focus, EZ Living Interiors are proud to stand over the Sofa Workshop quality. From the hand-crafted Italian leather to their soft, matte pile cotton velvets, the materials that go into each piece are carefully selected to create a sofa that is timelessly beautiful.

“Hugh is the perfect fit to be our ambassador,” says Emma Murphy, EZ Living Interiors creative manager. “He personifies what Sofa Workshop is for the company; characterful, colourful, unique, timeless, with integrity and fun.”

With a curated collection of sofas and a gorgeous selection of chairs and footstools, Sofa Workshop x Hugh Wallace embodies the design-led focus of EZ Living Interiors which Hugh previewed on location in an Irish Georgian country house providing a contextual mix of historic architecture and interiors designed for contemporary living.

Including the Scott Sofa collection, Charles Linen Slip Cover Sofa, Silas Cypress Cotton Sofa, Bertie Mink Bouclé Sofa and the Leon Modular Sofa.

The Scott is described as a hero sofa, iconic piece and a cult classic. Loved the world over by leading furniture brands, EZ Living Interiors have always been the exclusive retailers of the Scott Sofa for the last decade in Ireland. The clarity of shape typical to mid-century furniture design, paired with the comfort of a feather and foam mixed seat and back makes the Scott a great choice every time. The Scott is available as a 3-seater sofa, as a 2-seater, armchair or footstool, as well as the ever-popular corner chaise sofa.

“I just love this,” Hugh says. “It’s sublime, it reminds me of the classic ‘50s couch. In this setting, in a period home, it sits perfectly but it would also sit perfectly in a semi-detached house.”

With a laid-back chic aesthetic, the Charles Sofa features a removeable loose linen slipcover. The precision-made cover fits the frame while its skirt creates a balance between neat tailoring and relaxed style. A timeless design perfect for all kinds of spaces where softness and harmony merge together to enjoy in your home.

“The Charles Sofa I think is just a fantastic functional piece,” Hugh says. You can take off all the covers and get it cleaned. There is a real sense of casualness about this piece, it’s very comfortable to sit in I have to tell you.”

The Silas is a classically shaped sofa with charming stitched scrolled arms and attractive turned front legs. The Silas offers an inviting sit with soft seat and back cushions that rest upon a sprung unit for extra comfort.

The Bertie is all about curves and contemporary design, featuring soft, mink bouclé upholstery and supporting back arm rests. Its retro style is complemented by a touch of class, bringing elegance into your living space.

The Leon is inspired by the modular sofas that rose to popularity in the seventies and their recent resurgence, the Leon sofa delivers character effortlessly. Inherently dynamic with its modular capabilities, the Leon offers endless definitions for the environment it inhabits.

“Presenting the collection in a Georgian country house was the perfect space for these timeless pieces to communicate to people in Ireland who love interiors,” Emma says. “Hugh saw the timelessness in the pieces, the references to the historical brought up to date. He saw the detail, things like leather strapping on chairs, curves, all the details that make Sofa Workshop more than a piece of furniture, something that you’ll love and cherish and at an approachable price.”

“It’s been brilliant to have been invited to the Sofa Workshop collection because I’m blown away by it,” Hugh says. “Because the essence of the collection is based on classics from the past reinvented for today. Brilliant materials, brilliant fabrics, textures, and colours but also the perfect shapes for your home.”

On Wednesday, the 12th of June, Hugh Wallace joined Emma Murphy and David O’Brien, interior designer and 2021 RTÉ Home of the Year finalist, at a Live Event panel discussion at EZ Living Interiors’ newly opened and 20th store in Belgard Retail Park, Dublin for a lively discussion, delving into the story of the Sofa Workshop collection and its development.

Speaking at the event, EZ Living Interiors Director, Gavin White says, “This brand was brought to us by Daniel who has taken time to travel from abroad to be with us here tonight which I really appreciate. Daniel’s company is another family business. The beautiful sofas you see in the collection add such an incredible uniqueness to our stores. We are now over 10 years creating beautiful homes with your sofas, with our Hero model, the Scott Sofa proving to be our best seller throughout. I look forward to working with you and the Sofa Workshop brand for many years to come. “
