Discount furniture retailer QD Furniture Store has announced plans to close in Swaffham.

The business, which is situated on Market Place, said it had taken the decision to close the shop following investment at other high street locations.

The store is expected to close this weekend, with two part time roles being made redundant. Its other QD store on London Street will remain open.

A statement said: “All the items that were sold from the furniture store are available to order for home delivery at our main store in London Street, as well as in many of our other stores and online.

“Unfortunately, there have been two part time roles that were made redundant as a result of the closure, which is always sad.

“However, we have recently been investing in high street locations and we are actively looking at new store openings in Norfolk and elsewhere for 2024.”
