Danish homewares retailer to expand Scottish presence

Danish homewares retailer Søstrene Grene has announced plans to open three new stores in Scotland.

The retailer said it plans to open on Buchanan Street in Glasgow later this year, marking the second city location with its other store located in St Enoch Centre.

Furthermore, two other stores are planned to open in Bon Accord Shopping Centre, Aberdeen, and Waverley Market in Edinburgh in the coming months.

No official opening dates for all three have been confirmed yet.

Søstrene Grene said that the success at its Glasgow store mentioned above has prompted the decision to expand further in the Scottish market.

The retailer recently announced a new store at Festival Place in Basingstoke, its first in Hampshire and is also expected to open later this year.

Søstrene Grene currently has over 270 stores worldwide, with the aim of having 100 stores across the UK by 2030. It recently announced it will open its first East Anglian store, situated on London Street in Norwich, which is also set to open later this year.

Other recent store openings over the past 12 months include York, London, Cheltenham, Kingston, High Wycombe, Bracknell, and Sheffield, as well as in Liverpool and Leamington Spa.
