Danish homewares retailer opens second London store

Danish homewares retailer Søstrene Grene has announced the opening of its second store in London.

Months after launching its debut London store on Tottenham Court Road in December 2023, the retailer has opened in Coal Drops Yard, King’s Cross.

Officially opening on 10 May 2024, the new store features a wide range of Scandinavian inspired design-led items including interiors, furnishings and lifestyle products.

The new store adds to its ongoing UK expansion, adding to its aim of having 100 stores across the UK by 2030. It recently announced it will open its first East Anglian store, situated on London Street in Norwich, which is set to open later this year.

Furthermore, Søstrene Grene announced plans to open three new stores in Scotland. The retailer said it plans to open on Buchanan Street in Glasgow later this year, marking the second city location with its other store located in St Enoch Centre.

Two other Scottish stores are planned to open in Bon Accord Shopping Centre, Aberdeen, and Waverley Market in Edinburgh in the coming months.

Other recent store openings over the past 12 months include York, London, Cheltenham, Kingston, High Wycombe, Bracknell, and Sheffield, as well as in Liverpool and Leamington Spa.

“Opening a second Central London store is essential for brand awareness, visibility, and growth,” the retailer said. “We couldn’t be happier to name King’s Cross our next store location in the capital.”
