Danish homewares retailer eyes up debut Surrey store

Danish homewares retailer Søstrene Grene has announced plans to open its first store in Surrey as it continues its rapid UK rollout.

The new 4,673 sqft space will occupy a position on Henry Plaza between M&S and Moss at Woking’s Victoria Place. It is set to open later this year.

Norma Jacob and Richard Power, UK joint venture partners at Søstrene Grene, said: “Søstrene Grene has been undergoing a wide expansion across the UK, particularly across the south of England, so we are excited to be able to announce that we will be opening in Woking later this year. Victoria Place is a brilliant location in the heart of Woking and we’re looking forward to introducing our brand to a new audience, marking our first store launch in the region.”

The news follows other recent store opening announcements, including plans to launch in the Southwest region of London in Kingston upon Thames this summer.

Located on Thames Street, the store marks Søstrene Grene’s second London opening this year, following the city’s first store in Wandsworth, which launched in May 2023.

Søstrene Grene has also confirmed plans to open its first store in York at the Helmsley Group’s Coach House development.

The retailer has agreed a letting to take a 5,000sqft store at The Coach House, which is on the corner of Nessgate and Low Ousegate, further adding to its store expansion with its other recent opening in Sheffield.
