Danish furniture retailer JYSK officially opens store number 17 in Ireland

Danish furniture retailer JYSK has opened its latest store in Ireland, bringing the total to 17 across the country.

The new store is situated on Arcadia Retail Park in Athlone and has created around 15 new jobs.

The new store adds to its other existing locations in Dundalk, Naas, Drogheda, Dublin, Youghal, Navan, Portlaoise, Waterford, Ashbourne, Sligo, Limerick, Carlow, Thurles and Tralee.

Commenting on the launch, store manager Suzanne Kehoe said: “We are delighted to open a new store in Co Westmeath. As one of the first employees when JYSK first opened in Ireland, I can’t wait to welcome the new customers in the Athlone store.”

JYSK will open another store, its 18th, in Co. Tipperary, on 15 September 2022 and will be based at Powerstown Centre in Clonmel.

Last year, JYSK opened six new outlets in Ireland. At the end of 2021, the Danish company said that it may open up to 10 new stores in Ireland over the following year, and eventually open 50.
