Customer focused investments boost turnover at Sherborne

Upholstery manufacturer Sherborne has reported an uptick in sales as emphasis on customer support drives growth.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 30 June 2022, total sales rose 33% to £26.2m from £19.7m in 2021. Pre-tax profit resulted at £866,000, up from £449,000 recorded in the previous year.

During the period, Sherborne made a significant investment in training new staff, machinery and building stock levels to better service its customer base.

“We are committed to supporting our customers through extra stockholding during the important autumn period, when we managed to deliver all our pre-Xmas promised orders on time, through heavy investment in plant & machinery, and through a major factory reorganisation to enable us to be more flexible and to keep our costs well under control,” Sherborne said.

“During the July-Dec 2022 period, we did see a reduction in profitability, but we had a very positive January Furniture Show and are optimistic about the future.”
