Continued investment boosts beds and mattress manufacturer

Beds and mattresses manufacturer Mansion House Bedding Company has reported a growth in both its top and bottom lines.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 March 2022, total sales rose 53.8% to £8m from £5.2m in 2021.

Gross profit increased from £2.2m to £3.7m, while pre-tax profit resulted at £538,000, up 70.2% from £316,000 recorded the previous year.

Stated within its report, the company, which operates brands including The Old English Bed Company, Mattison Contract Beds and EPOC, said that it closed the year with a strong order book, while also maintaining its net profit percentage, which was due to the reduction in overheads during the period.

Also, during the year, the group continued to invest heavily into new automated machinery to reduce costs, as well as investing in its factory – replacing the old roof with a more thermal efficient roof. This will reduce heating costs and also provide the factory with more natural light.
