Charity event Big Shots to take place in June

Big Shots, the furnishing industry’s clay pigeon shoot organised in aid of industry charity The Furniture Makers’ Company, returns this summer.

The fundraiser, which is now in its 28th year, is once again taking place at Holland and Holland, Middlesex, one of the UK’s premier shooting destinations, on Wednesday 7 June 2022.

Following a breakfast and safety briefing, the 100-bird shooting competition will start with the firing of the cannon, with teams then making their way round 10 stands set in the estate’s 60 acres of countryside.

In addition to the traditional shooting stands, there will be some novelty stands, including the flash clays and an eight straight stand. After the clay pigeon competition, there will be prizes, a raffle and charity auction, following a three-course lunch with wine.

As always, there will be plenty of opportunities throughout the day to raise money for the charity, which supports workers from the trade who have fallen on hard times and encourages new talent into the industry.

Big Shots is once again being sponsored by Furniture Village and organised with the support of Charlie Harrison, managing director, who said: “We’re thoroughly proud to be a main sponsor again at this year’s Big Shots, it’s a fantastic day out and it will be great to welcome many familiar and new faces along on the day. The most important thing though is it’s all for such a worthy cause and we’re very privileged to support in every way we can.”

Jonny Westbrooke, CEO of The Furniture Makers’ Company, added: “Big Shots is a highlight in the furnishing industry’s calendar and, as always, we’d like to thank Furniture Village, the event’s principal sponsor, for their support in making the event possible. Big Shots raises vital funds for out charity, and we look forward to welcoming new and returning teams to Holland and Holland this summer.”

The price of an individual shooter is £300 + VAT with a team of four costing £1,200 + VAT. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.
