Carpet supplier sales begin to bounce back

The owner of carpet manufacturer Wilton Carpets, Wylye Valley Holdings, has reported a return to sales growth.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 August 2022, total sales rose 33% to £7.4m from £5.6m in 2021. This was an improvement on the prior year where sales had fallen 26% from £7.6m in 2020.

The company maintain profitability at £101,000, although this was down from £153,000 recorded the previous year.

Stated within its report, the company said that the increase in sales was due to the impact of the Covid pandemic decreasing. Gross margin reduced slightly to 37.5% from 39.3%.
