Carpet retailer Carpetright has confirmed plans to close its store in March.

The store, which is located on Meadowlands Retail Park, has launched a closing down sale after deciding not to renew its lease at the premises.

It is understood that the lease ends in June this year, although the retailer could vacate the property as soon as by the end of the month.

Carpetright is looking to redeploy staff from the store to other nearby locations to avoid any redundancies and confirmed that stores in Wisbech, Peterborough and Huntingdon remain open. 

The closure does follow its previous exit in St Neots earlier this year.
