Bensons for Beds opens new store in Didcot

Beds and mattress retailer Bensons for Beds has announced plans to open a new store in Oxfordshire.

Bensons is moving into Unit 29, Orchard Shopping Centre, Didcot, marking a return to the site it vacated two years ago.

The new store opens on Friday 1 July with around 4,000 square feet of trading space on the ground floor and another 4,000 square feet on the mezzanine. It will employ four colleagues.

To mark the occasion, Bensons will be rolling out its iconic purple carpet to welcome visitors who will be offered an additional 10 per cent off items bought over the opening weekend.

One of Bensonsā€™ new store formats, it has been designed to showcase the wide range of beds and mattresses on offer from top brands including Slumberland, iGel, Tempur and Sealy, so that customers can choose the right bed for them to help them get a good nightā€™s sleep.

It is also one of the first Bensons stores to open with a new fascia and internal signage since the business underwent a rebranding in March.

The new Didcot store will also offer Bensonsā€™ new way to choose a full sleep solution that recognises that everyoneā€™s sleep needs are unique,

The personalised service ā€“ ā€˜your bed, your wayā€™ ā€“ allows Bensonsā€™ in-store experts to help customers to choose the mattress that matches their sleep needs and then style that choice with a made-to-order bed in five steps.

Bensonsā€™ chief customer officer, Frankie Haynes, said: ā€œWeā€™re looking forward to opening our new Didcot store where we can show the best of what Bensons for Beds has to offer to people in the city and the surrounding region.

ā€œCustomers really like our new concept stores where they can see our full ranges and get all the help they need to make the right choice of bed and mattress so they can get the best nightā€™s sleep possible.ā€

The store is run by manager Tylor Varney who has re-joined the company to lead the new store.

The refit is the latest investment by Bensons under its transformation plan and follows the opening of eight stores in December and nine so far this year.
