Beds retailer delivers strong profit growth

Beds and mattress retailer Mattressman has reported a growth in profit as sales remained consistently strong.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 March 2023, total sales stood at £22.4m, slightly down from £22.5m in 2022.

Pre-tax profit resulted at £6.4m, significantly improving from its profit of £946,000 recorded in the previous year.

Stated within its report, the company said that it has continued to grow sales in its cored product ranges of mattresses and bedframes, with current trading 19% ahead and forecasts for the next 12 months looking strong.

During the period, the business also welcomed ex-CEO of The Cotswold Company, Kevin Johnson as its Chairman, who is set to be “instrumental in the development and delivery of its three-year strategic growth plan”.
