Bedding manufacturer closes impacting 40 jobs

Bedding manufacturer Norfolk Feather Company has ceased trading and is expected to be placed into liquidation.

The Diss-based business issued a letter to staff earlier this month detailing the closure, which said the directors had taken the decision to cease trading and place the company into creditors’ voluntary liquidation, terminating employment with immediate effect.

The company, which has been operating from over 90 years and specialises in luxury feather and hollowfibre pillows and duvets for a range of retailers, including Harrods, employs around 40 staff from its facility on Park Road.

Following the news, some customers have also taken to social media channels to air their frustrations over unfilled orders and refunds, while staff are understood to be outstanding pay after the business ran out of funds.
