Sustainable bedding manufacturer Trendsetter has achieved B Corp UK certified status.

Certified B Corporations are businesses that meet high standards of social and environmental performance.

Claire Watkin, Managing Director at Trendsetter / The Fine Bedding Company, said in a post on social media: “From the moment I discovered B Corp in 2016 it resonated completely with me and my sense of what we as a business stood for. That we can and should have a bigger impact, beyond profit, on broader society, people and planet for the positive.

“It has not been an easy journey to gain certification and that’s part of the point. The BI Assessment of over 200 questions and a following verification process, that we meet a minimum score of 80 points, ensures that our business meets high social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency. Our team has worked hard to answer every question asked, but of course it’s all down to their hard work that we are here, this is really their story.

“We maybe a fourth generation business but this is about business for future generations, joining a global and local community of businesses that’s rapidly growing. It’s a legally binding commitment to all stakeholders, for which we’ve changed our articles of association. It’s a journey that we are excited to be on to drive change.
